In my blogging absence, I celebrated my 29th birthday last month! It's always a blessing to see another year and with all the growth I've experienced since last year, this year was extra special for me. I can't put into words how overwhelming the love of God feels and how much He's revealing Himself to me as I learn to lean on Him in all that I do. I'll be posting more about the peace that came with entering my last year of my twenties in the "Jessicaisms" section on the blog. As many of you know, this isn't my first blogging rodeo but with God as the foundation this time, I'm looking forward to the many amazing things He has in store as I share with you my faith in Him, life lessons, and my personal style through grace, modesty and purpose.
As I indulge in the newness that comes with turning twenty nine, there are so many things I'm looking forward to adjusting in my wardrobe. No matter how I continue to age gracefully, one thing will never change-I will never have enough back pieces hanging in my closet. Head-to-toe black is the easiet, chicest, most foolproof way to get dressed and I've come to enjoy its fashion freedom as I've learned to come to grips with being unapologetically okay with that. Black leather jackets, black pants, black booties black tanks, black purses, black heels, black anything is NEVER going out of style.
There's a movement going on in the fashion world and that movement is simple, literally! That's my biggest style goal as I approach my thirties-simplify and slay in the process. I've been asked, on more than one occasion if there is any reason not to wear black. My answer is always no, unless it's your wedding day(lol). There are a lot reasons all black ensembles will always be a signature look of mine but these will always be my favaorites:
- I never have to worry about matching.
- It can be worn EVERY season. Literallry every single one! In like a million different ways!
- It can be layered to no end.
- It flatters every skin tone.
- It's figure flattering.
- Even when worn casually, it always looks kind of dressed up
- It works for all ages
- It's chic and all kinds of sophisticated
- You can wear any fabric and still look flawless in it
- It's hard to stain
Color is fun and so very necessary but black will forever be the epitome of class in the wonderful world of fashion. I can't wait to show you the endless ways I style it this year so stay tuned, there's plenty all black everything to come. I'm excited to see what the future holds and I'm ready and willing to take it all knowing that every moment, through the grace of God, has its purpose. I appreciate all the birthday wishes everyone extended on my special day! You guys are amazing :)
